The study we are involved in at the University is coming to an end. The last day is May 9th. I have looked forward to this day, as being involved in the study took much of our time each week. But now that it is almost over, it is sad--Jaden and I have come to enjoy our time there, and to admire the Professor and her students. I pray our part in the study will help others in the future.
Our oldest daughter, Kady, is graduating from high school on the 19th of May! It is such an exciting time. Our two middles, Morgan and Lance, have been given a month of respite from homeschooling during the month of May, so that we can all work together to make Kady's graduation special for her.
We are planning to enroll all of the younger children in school this year. Kady is going off to UCF in Orlando. Morgan would like to attend Santa Fe High School but I am trying to talk with her about a gradual process, such as attending the small private school that Kady has been in for her high school years. Not sure on that, yet. Lance is most likely going to attend Einstein Montessori school. It is a charter school for children with dyslexia. A really neat thing happened while Reg and I were at that school last week: the principal said that even though Lance has been diagnosed with dyslexia, he wont necessarily get accepted into the school, since only those children who score three standards below will get accepted. I told her I do believe Lance is only two years behind in reading, and making major progress every day. She said he probably wont need to come to Einstein! \o/ She said, "you must have worked very hard with him" I said, "No, I worked him very hard" ;O)
God's Grace is attending a special ed preschool class at the local elementary school. I still need to decide if she will get on the bus every morning (they pick her up--car seat and all) or if I will drive her. I cannot believe my baby needs to be in school and I am quite sad about that. I really enjoy my children and love spending time with them. This year marks great change for us. Prayer is appreciated. I keep telling Reg that having four children in four different schools might be more work than homeschooling :O)
