Dora and Dolls

Jaden has been watching some shows on TV for a few weeks now. She typically goes back and forth between watching a lot of shows and then not being interested in watching anything at all.
Her favorite show lately is Dora the Explorer. She loves the monkey especially. I love that children her age all love Dora and so in this way she is very typical!
She also loves dolls. Not baby dolls so much but dolls she can dress and undress. We were in Publix today and she saw a doll in the toy aisle. There were several different ones, with lots of hair colors, eye colors and clothes. They were soft, cotton dolls. They had fancy earrings and red lipstick. The jacket, tank top and pants came off them easily but they had undies and shoes that are permanent. Anyway, I quickly realized that there was no way we were leaving Publix without one of those dolls. It really was the first time Jaden 'asked' for a toy. We looked at each of them and talked about them, then I tried to put the last one up, saying, "Ok, JadenGrace, it's time to go home" She got the doll before I could hang it on the hook and said, "Go home? Take doll home?"
How can a mama say no to that?
