I wanted to post about the biofilm protocol my girl has been doing to kill yeast and bacteria. I have been putting it off because the protocol is difficult (twice a day at strict timings) and because the yeast die-off has caused my girl to be quite unhappy and needy. (More than usual!) But it's important to share because the biofilm protocol is a fairly new thing for healing the guts of kids who are constantly on antibiotics and antifungals for gut dysbiosis with little to no healing. It is very promising and from our experience so far, it seems to be working much better than Diflucan, Ketoconazole, Nystatin, and even Vancomycin have in the past few years. Here is a website that explains the protocol and I am including it because I can't fully explain all of the details. But for those of you who like scientific details here it is, along with the brilliant woman who brought it forth:

We started on June 10th. First thing in the morning I gave Jaden 1 capsule of Lumbrokinase (an earthworm enzyme) and 1 capsule of EDTA (an oral chelator). After 1/2 an hour, I gave her 100mg of liquid Diflucan. An hour later I gave her 1 capsule of activated charcoal. I had quit many of her daily supplements when we started the protocol but we did stick with some, like quercitin, enzymes, betaine, tons of probiotics, glutathione, vits b and c, fish oils, and magnesium salt creams and baths. So I would give her most of these about 2 hours after the charcoal. Then several hours later we could do the 2nd round of the protocol, which is the same as the first. (Two times per day)
Jaden has been on this for 4 weeks, with an expected total time of 8 weeks. She has been challenging! and spacy, irritable, hyperactive and impulsive. It has been hard for her to learn and stay still. She wants to be with Reg or I all day long. She has been up many nights for hours. She has wet the bed numerous times. She has learned how to lie and steal (candy from Publix!). She has begged for food all day long, every single day for 4 weeks. She eats every hour or more often if she gets away with stealing food. We figured out she struggles lots with blood sugars and was eating too many high GI foods so we had to re-look at her diet--again. She is so bossy! and thinks she can yell at her Mama! Her poops have been very interesting--long (one we nicknamed 'the world's longest poop') and sometimes with long things sticking out of them that we called 'hands'. She began to poop several times per day (thank GOD--ALL in the potty \o/)
Why do we put up with this?, you might be asking. Because all of those difficult moments mean the yeast and bacteria are being pulled from their mucousy biofilm, where they were safe before, and killed! Once the protocol is over (4 weeks, Lord, please) Jaden will likely not need antifungals very often. We sent off her urine two weeks ago and received the results today--proof that the protocol is going to work for Jaden!
The good things we have seen: much independance! Getting out of bed on her own and turning on the TV and petting the cat while waiting for me to come out. Getting dressed completely on her own. Getting her own drinks from the cooler and the refrigerator. Using words like 'disgraceful' and 'gross'. Having a phone conversation with her sister and answering every single question--correctly! Enjoying (and asking to go to) the public library and picking out books for herself. Then making me read them over and over and over. She learned to zipper and isn't afraid of the vacum anymore!
Doesn't she sound quite typical?

AWESOME!!! We are so wishing we had started this at the beginning of summer. It would be almost impossible to do during the school year. And the independance. That is my greatest wish!
