Something is changing

God is so kind. I remember the miracle he gave me for Christmas, when JadenGrace was lying on the floor staring at me, and then playing and laughing with me. Well, today is the day after Easter, and He is still in the habit of giving good gifts. :oD
Kirsty is Jaden's ABA therapist and she came at 9:30. She commented pretty quickly that Jaden was more verbal today. Now, I think of being more verbal as talking, but Kirsty seemed quite impressed that Jaden was actually making sounds, since she had been nearly silent for a while there...So, after Kirsty leaves, we head out to the University, where Jaden is involved in a study on the language of autistic children. I was sitting in the camera room with one of the students, watching through a mirror. The young lady said "Jaden seems more verbal today"...and then, when HK was done working with Jaden and I met them in the hallway, she said, "Jaden was more verbal and attentive today" WOW. You know what they say about three witnesses! :O)
I also noticed that Jaden ate well today. She had stopped eating eggs and deli turkey. That was disturbing because these were some of her main sources of protein, since she doesn't like any other kinds of meat. Another source of protein was peanut butter. But I had been feeling strange about feeding her peanut butter for several weeks. First of all, she wanted a lot of it. One tsp was not enough for this girl! And it was the only food that she cried about when we told her she couldn't have it. I had remembered reading that if a child craves a food, it is usually not good for them. :O( Jaden had also broken out with ecsema (sp) on her legs and it was getting worse. I wondered if the peanut butter had anything to do with it. I made a decision to take away peanut butter. And soy, too. Just to see what would happen. So Jaden has not had those things since Friday. And today she ate all of her scrambled eggs, two large pieces of deli turkey and even ate the whole broccoli head instead of just the mayonaise it was dunked in ;O)
We started a new supplement last week as well. It is called LiverLife and it is herbal detox for the liver. A lot of Moms testify that this brought about amazing things in their children.
I am so grateful that God is blessing this hard work and causing Jaden to heal. What a day! Like rain after a drought! Praise the Lord!
