Numbers

Jaden loves numbers. She always takes my finger and puts it on a group of numbers so she can listen to me count. She has a wood number puzzle, too, that counts in both English and Spanish when she places the number in the correct spot. She likes for me to first count in English, and then Spanish, and in that order, too, or else.
The other day I saw her pointing to the numbers as she attempted to say them: "un, oo, tee..."
It's a difficult thing to know that your child has so much potential but just can't transfer all that from the inside to the outside. Even getting out one sound takes so much effort on Jaden's part. Have you ever seen someone learning to talk again after a stroke? That's is very much how it is for Jaden to speak. She sure loves to try, though.
