Vyvanse

I used to be a mom who looked down on others who used medicine for hyperactivity in their children. It has been a long, hard road being changed by God, humbled and made new. If I have ever offended you about your children with ADHD, please accept my heartfelt apologies. I am so sorry. Now I have one. :o)
Yesterday we started a new med called Vyvanse for ADHD. It was a truly miraculous day. My girl, within one hour, began asking me to teach her how to wash the dishes and make coffee for Daddy. (Like she had never seen me do those things before. Ha!) She sat still, talked calmly, listened better, never once ran out the back door (she had been doing that 20-30 times per day), never once choked the pets, never once went to the kitchen opening the refrigerator or pantry door, begging for food. (previously 20 times per day, too).
The dose is supposed to be 20 mg but I only gave her half a capsule until I had time to see how bad the side effects would be. The only one I saw was it wore off before expected, right around dinnertime, and so then we had to deal with these behaviors for a few more hours before bedtime.
Today I gave her 10 mg again but tomorrow I will start her at 20 mg. I also took a pill today (shhh) just do I could see how she feels on it, and if there are headaches, tummy aches, etc, that she can't describe to me.
