Thank you Bonnie

Did you know that you can love someone without ever laying eyes on them?
There is a special lady who has been doing that, ever since Jaden was diagnosed. She didn't know us, but heard about Jaden and how difficult our life is with an autistic child. She immediately sent us a gift to help take care of Jaden's needs. As if that wasn't enough love, she sent another gift at Christmas time last year. And this year, again, in the mail was a lovely photo of her and her husband, with something for JadenGrace.
I sit in awe and amazement. I thank God for this woman, who has such a giving heart. It is *hard* to be a giver. This world says to take. And save. And store up. It's easy to fall into a pattern of keeping. And putting self first. And striving to get. But God says, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal." That doesn't mean that we can't plan, or save, or have goals for our lives on this earth. But it is clear that God wants us to be storing treasures in heaven--things that are important for eternity. And He wants us to be givers--just like Jesus, who gave his very life so we could have hope of eternal life.
It is a rare thing for one to follow this command, though, and so comes my amazement when I receive yet another gift from Bonnie. It's as if God is saying, "I can love you through her, because she is so faithful to what I want her to be and do."
Thank you, Bonnie.
