constantly having to choose between whose needs are going to get met first, and asking God to make her well enough that she will not be a burden to her siblings when I am in heaven.

How God grows things best in darkness.

Yes. It works.


WHAT ABOUT OTHER BIOMED TREATMENTS- HBOT, CHELATION, ETC.?

Yes, they all are necesary to healing the bodies and minds of autistic children. Thank GOD it is available today!

WHAT METHOD OF ABA/Behaviour Therapy DO YOU LIKE BEST?

Love ABA but find it cost prohibitive. Use Floortime instead and find it works well.

IF YOU COULD MAKE EVERY PARENT TRY ONE THING- WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Jesus, for hope and strength and wisdom.


WHAT DO YOU THINK THE RATE OF AUTISM REALLY IS?

I believe the stats--it's more than 1 out of every 160 children. An epidemic! An autistic child coming to a family near you.

HOW MANY KIDS WITH AUTISM LIVE ON YOUR BLOCK?

Just mine. My neighborhood is full of old people who likely had to institutionalize thier children if they were autistic.

HAVE YOU EVER MET A RECOVERED CHILD?


Not in person. I would like more brave parents to let me meet thier recovered child, even on video.

WHAT KIND OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM DOES YOUR CHILD GET?

Special Ed school, though i am getting increasingly convinced she would do better at home.


DO YOU GET SERVICES/TREATMENTS THROUGH YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE?

Just good prescription coverage. OT and Speech suck. They should cover ABA but they don't.

DO YOU THINK THE DIVORCE RATE IS REALLY 80% FOR ASD FAMILIES?

Absolutely.

DO YOU HAVE A GOOD POOP STORY?

No but I like to observe poop often.


WHAT IS THE STUPIDEST THING ANYONE HAS EVER SAID ABOUT YOUR KID?

"She is so loud. I thought it was a puppy in here"

WHAT DO YOU SAY WHEN SOMEONE ASKS "WHAT IS AUTISM?"

I ask them how much time they have.


WHO IS YOUR "AUTISM COMMUNITY HERO"?

Jenny McCarthy and all the DAN doctors--brave souls who risk loss of position and acceptance declaring that autism is treatable!




WHAT GROUP/ORGANIZATION DO YOU THINK HAS DONE THE MOST FOR THE COMMUNITY?


DID YOU VACCINATE YOUR CHILD AND DO YOU CONTINUE TO DO SO?
I did vaccinate some...but not any since 12 months old. Her immune system is compromised and can't handle it.

DOES YOUR FAMILY ACCEPT YOUR CHILD HAVING AUTISM?

They do now. Most will in due time.



WHAT LESSON HAVE YOU LEARNED AFTER ALL OF THIS?
I am stronger than I know. I can fight like a cat. Growth comes through adversity. Easy lives need not apply.


IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME, WOULD YOU CHOSE FOR YOUR CHILD TO BE NEURO-TYPICAL?


Hmmm...it's what I fight for every single day. No acceptance here.
