hypoglycemia

I have figured out that this plays a major role in some of Jaden's difficult behaviors, mainly the habit of asking for food all day long! It is hard to feed a kid who can't have fifty things you and I eat everyday and so Jaden has ended up eating too many carbs. She doesn't want meat or veggies, (though I make her eat them) but loves, loves, loves fruit, cereal, muffins, etc etc. I decided to change things a bit yesterday and when she woke up, instead of feeding her a bowl of cereal, I fed her deli turkey and eggs. (I did have to convince her to eat the eggs!)
I tried hard all day to feed her lots of protein and very little carbs. Today we did even better. She had deli meat, bacon, eggs, leftover roast beef from last night's dinner, and some homemade sunbutter. She did have cereal but only half a bowl. She had one banana in her smoothie (instead of the 2-3 she usually eats throughout the day!) She also had one muffin and some candy with Xylotol. She was a DIFFERENT child today! She did bug for food but only about 4 times versus the 50 times she was asking two days ago! She was happier, more responsive, and played better. I ate the same foods along with her and didn't need a nap today!
I wonder how long my girl has suffered like this. I hope only a short while. I am glad I took the plunge and am requiring her to eat protein!
